Hi Deepinder,

Thank you for your views.

1. Being married to a Sikh and having a daughter who's more Sikh than Hindu, I do claim to know a little something about Sikhism.

2. The article is written from the point of view of people who do not know - for whom a knife is a knife, regardless of it's spiritual connotation and travelling with a chap who carries a knife is still disturbing to such people.

3. I respect your feelings, but the tone of your comment is only justifying my standpoint, that people will be people and can be aggressive. So why be partial and allow Sikhs to carry knives in places, regardless of it being an instrument of mercy?

4. I agree, you do not need to tolerate my myopic and grossly uneducated views. Please do not visit again if my content disturbs you. However, I would welcome you with open arms if you wish to conduct a moderated and informative discussion that benefits all.

Regards,

what you call a knife is called "Kirpaan" or "instrument of mercy".

your article seems to be a knee jerk reaction to images that you find disconcerting and violent.

no one condones brandishing swords and being violent. sure there are misled and also mischevious people in every religion.

but your conclusion is myopic. based on your incomplete comprehension of the religion and significance of the 'kirpaan' for sikhs.

kirpan is an article of faith that reminds sikhs of their duty to oppose injustice.

why were you willing to tolerate it when sikhs fought against tyranny and in justice using the same kirpaan. when they protected other people not of the same religion using the same.

so tell me why should i tolerate your myopic and grossly uneducated views

Hey Sid,

Thanks for the plug! HIIT really is a great way to exercise, especially if your short on time. I have been doing it for quite a while now and the results have been incredible for me.

I like your site here. It's going to take me a while to read through all of your archives though :)

So true. But I would like to site another incident. In 2001, I dropped the RC of my bike accidentally in the market. When I came to realize that, I tried to find it to no avail. I applied for a duplicate RC and got one. A few days later, I received the original RC by post. As it happened that the shop owner close to the place where I parked my bike happened to find it and post it to me.
So lets not use any stereotypes. There are all kind of people out there, just depends on your luck what you bump against.
